Qualifications

$1,000 Sign-On Bonus

*Sign-On bonus is for External Hires only

Recipient must stay with AHN for a minimum of 1 year

Re-Hires may not have worked for AHN within the previous 12 months to qualify

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the provider and as a member of the health care team, assists in coordinating the examination, treatment, and health care planning for patients. Assists with other office functions to support patient care and office operations. Follows all established protocols, policies, procedures, and standardized workflows.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist in the coordination of patient care under supervision of the healthcare provider using a team-based approach.
  2. Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, document patient information, history, tobacco and medication screening, and assist with screenings and updates in the EHR.
  3. Perform back-office testing following protocols and assist providers with examinations and procedures.
  4. Provide follow-up with patients via their preferred method, notify patients of test results as directed by the provider.
  5. Prepare exam rooms, ensure inventory of supplies, and maintain cleanliness and sterilization of instruments.
  6. Perform lab controls, equipment checks, and administer medications as per policies.
  7. Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties as assigned.
  8. May be required to float/travel between locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • High School / GED
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant or direct patient care experience
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34, 33, and 73 Background Clearances

Certification Requirements:

  • Graduate from a medical assistant program within five years or proof of recent work experience as a medical assistant
  • Must complete certification training/testing within 30 days of hire and obtain certification within 120 days
  • Accepted certifications include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA

Preferred:

  • Associate's Degree
