Summary of Job Duties

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides direct patient care under supervision, assisting with examinations, procedures, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, dressing changes, medication administration, and administrative tasks like scheduling and registration.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an ambulatory care setting
  • One or more years of MA experience
  • Current BLS certification
Additional Responsibilities
  • Greeting patients, scheduling, registering, and checking out patients
  • Handling payments, verifying insurance, transporting patients
  • Gathering medical history, vital signs, lab samples
  • Communicating with nursing staff, maintaining supplies, adhering to safety protocols
  • Providing grooming, hygiene, comfort, and assisting with activities
  • Documenting care activities, participating in education, supporting department staff
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Salary and Application Requirements

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required documents include: License or Certificate, three professional references, and resume.

Optional documents: Proof of veteran status.
