Job summary

Avance Care in Wilmington, NC is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our growing network of clinics. You will work closely with providers to deliver high-quality patient care, perform triage, vaccines, data entry, and assist with exams and procedures in a busy clinic.

Candidates should have CMA/CCMA/RMA or EMT certification and at least one year of Medical Assistant experience. Excellent communication, confidentiality, and a growth mindset are essential.

Qualifications

  • CMA/CCMA/RMA or EMT certification preferred.
  • At least one year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam/treatment rooms.
  • Triage patients as necessary.
  • Administer vaccines and injections.
  • Record patient data prior to physician visits.
  • Assist physicians with exams and a variety of procedures.
  • Administer medications.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain proper disinfection protocols.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging.
  • Phone in prescriptions and distribute medications as ordered by the provider.

As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in delivering high-quality patient care. Working closely with our providers, you’ll help ensure every patient has a positive, efficient, and compassionate healthcare experience.

  • This is a full-time role involving 8-hour weekday shifts.
  • The position primarily works with one provider, so we are looking for an adaptable team player who is willing to contribute wherever needed.
  • Our clinic operates in a busy, fast-paced environment, and we seek a candidate who thrives under such conditions.
  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package available on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Selected Responsibilities:

Candidates should preferably have one of the following certifications: CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT, along with at least one year of Medical Assistant experience.
