Job description

Job Overview:

This position assists the physician in the examination and treatment of patients, performing delegated duties under the physician's supervision. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, recording information in patients' charts, and preparing treatment rooms. The role involves cross-training to improve efficiency and ensure continuity of patient care, working cooperatively within a team, demonstrating flexibility, motivation, and a commitment to quality care. Tasks include patient-related duties, medical record maintenance, and safety/environmental responsibilities.

Job Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT, NCCT, or NHA
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA and CPR certification
  • Current, active RN or LPN licensure, or credentials as a Respiratory Therapist or Technician are acceptable
  • Skills in EKG, injections, venipuncture, and performing lab tests according to CLIA guidelines and hospital policies
  • 1-2 years of experience in a physician's office or related setting

  • Adhere to hospital and department policies, standards of practice, and competencies
  • Maintain efficiency, organization, and time management to promote smooth operations

  • Ensure cleanliness and proper disposal of contaminated materials in exam rooms and supply areas
Working Conditions:

Physical activities include climbing, kneeling, lifting (both <10 lbs. and 50+ lbs.), pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, and walking. Sensory requirements include hearing, visual acuity, and color vision.
