Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking a Medical Assistant in Savannah, GA to support VA disability examination clinics. You will assist with clinical testing, prepare claimants, document vital signs, and help maintain orderly exam flow in a non-treatment role.

The role combines clinical and administrative tasks, including ECG/EKGs, PFTs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and records management, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred where applicable by state regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including required renewals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with claimants, providers, and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with EMR and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse.
• Prepare claimants for examinations and diagnostic testing, including ECG/EKG, Ankle Brachial Index, and Pulmonary Function Testing.
• Collect blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform Pulmonary Function Testing and upload results for interpretation.
• Calibrate clinic equipment and maintain AEDs.
• Chaperone claimants during examinations when required.
• Check claimants in and out of the clinic and manage scheduling.
• Review and maintain claimant medical records; manage supply inventory.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred where applicable by state regulations
