Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role blends clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced clinic environment, preparing claimants, conducting tests, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth MDEs.

The position emphasizes patient comfort, precise data collection, and teamwork with examiners; it is not a treatment role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; MA certification preferred where applicable by state.
• Current BLS certification with renewals.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse.
• Prepare claimants for examinations and diagnostic testing (ECG, PFT, ABIS).
• Collect blood samples and perform testing as needed.
• Perform ECGs and upload results for interpretation.
• Calibrate and maintain clinic equipment and AEDs.
• Chaperone claimants and prepare exam rooms and equipment.
• Manage administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic flow.
