Medical Assistant - Urgent Care - SMRMC-MG Float Pool

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient charts.
  • Provide information to patients to maximize clinic services.
  • Interview patients or their representatives to verify identity and gather necessary information.
  • Interface with reception and PBX operators; operate computers for data entry and retrieval.
  • Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, maintaining proficiency in medical terminology.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six months experience in Urgent Care, Primary Care, or direct patient care preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program or equivalent experience; EMT license preferred.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Office Laboratory Assistant License from Nevada required within 90 days of hire outside Cardiology practices.
