Job description

The Medical Assistant (MA) II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic or location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

1. Graduate of an accredited school with coursework/training including hands-on clinical training for medical assistants, or
2. Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
3. Completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
4. At least one year of work experience as a medical assistant, including skills such as obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration, or
5. Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association, or
6. Six months of healthcare experience, or
7. Six months of medical assistant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Six months of prior experience providing high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment, or
2. Six months of experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) in a healthcare setting.
