Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.

Experience:Urgent care experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.

License/Certifications:Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).

Equipment:EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.

Physical Requirements:Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

PAY RANGE

$23.00 - $32.61
