San Antonio Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Urgent Care setting. The role supports licensed clinicians and coordinates care under supervision, focusing on patient vitals, triage categorization, and routine documentation. Per diem and shift options may apply.
Ideal candidates will have a Medical Assistant program diploma and recent RN completion can substitute, with urgent care experience preferred and a current BLS card.
A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.

Education: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.
Experience: Urgent care experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.
License/Certifications: Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).
Equipment:EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.
Physical Requirements:Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
