MaineHealth Surgical Care and Wound Care - Damariscotta is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The MA will room patients with a provider, obtain vital signs, reconcile records, and track preventive care quality measures, contributing to overall patient wellness.

We offer sign-on bonuses for eligible candidates; full-time or part-time positions are available. The role requires strong communication, reliability, and a positive attitude to support the care team and patients across Maine

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants:

0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time)

1+ years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position.

Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Your Role

MaineHealth Surgical Care and Wound Care - Damariscotta | MaineHealth is offering an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our team! We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and proven record of reliability. Our medical assistants work one on one with a provider to enhance patient care and wellness through rooming and obtaining vital signs, reconciling the medical record, tracking preventative care quality measures, and returning patient calls. This position requires a positive attitude to contribute tothe team spirit within the practice

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
• License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement). Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
• Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

The pay range for this position is $21.09to $27.12 per hour.
