Position Overview

This position reports directly to a Nurse Manager and supervises Medical Assistants (MAs) while managing integrated health services at CCH satellite sites in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. The role is approximately 50% administrative and 50% skilled medical assistant care. Primary work location is Stout Street Health Center, 2130 Stout Street, Denver. Saturdays are required.

Valid driver’s license required. This requirement may be waived based on overall candidate experience and current needs.

Essential Functions
  • Directly supervises SSHC suite‑based Medical Assistants; performs hiring, orientation, onboarding, performance appraisals, and counseling.
  • Ensures competency of all MA staff, delivering high‑quality healthcare services within scope and state regulations.
  • Holds regular 1:1 supervisions with direct reports; provides feedback, coaching, mentorship, training, support, competency evaluations, and performance management.
  • Maintains high‑standard of care by offering relevant trainings, setting clear expectations, evaluating staff with quality assurance metrics, auditing direct client care, monitoring the environment of care, and supporting remediation as needed.
  • Manages continuous responsibilities such as scheduling, timesheets, Safetyzone review, mandatory trainings, punctuality, attendance, and adherence to policies.
  • Leads daily huddles on patient care updates, staffing, operations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Utilizes a Visual Management Board to communicate quality improvement metrics, policy changes, and announcements.
  • Communicates scheduling considerations to Operations and MA‑Nursing Leadership regarding FTE, staffing ratios, and adjustments.
  • Co‑leads discipline meetings and participates in other leadership or interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintains a professional and confidential environment, fostering collaboration, respect, and trust.
  • Ensures collaboration and consistency across integrated health teams.
  • Provides effective communication with patients, team members, and community partners.
  • Leads problem‑solving for continuous improvement of patient care and staff needs; escalates personnel issues to supervisors.
  • Champions and leads quality improvement initiatives; coaches others on quality improvement and LEAN methodology.
  • Maintains competence in all duties outlined in the Medical Assistant job description, including direct clinical care, lab collection, EHR proficiency, and integrated healthcare model.
Qualifications Summary
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program or Emergency Medical Technician–Basic certification.
  • Preferred experience as a supervisor.
  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT working for CCH preferred.
  • At least “Meets Expectations” on most recent performance review.
  • Certification in basic life support (CPR).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

$25.03 – $29.44 per hour. Placement within the range depends on total relevant years of experience.
