Brookwood Baptist Health in Pelham, AL is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with at least 2 years of experience to join our fast‑paced Internal Medicine team. You will perform hands‑on patient care under provider supervision, support clinical operations, and build meaningful patient connections in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of CMA experience (required)
• Current CMA certification (AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, etc.)
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
• Phlebotomy and X-ray experience are a plus but not required.
• Education: approved Medical Assistant training program or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and patient care activities
• Prepare patients for visits and gather accurate clinical information
• Enter orders under provider direction (labs, medications, diagnostic imaging)
• Document care per policy and maintain smooth patient flow

What We’re Looking For

• 1 year of Certified Medical Assistant experience (required)
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program or 1 year of applicable MA experience in addition to required experience
• Current CMA certification from an approved agency (AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, etc.)
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
• Someone who thrives in a busy environment, demonstrates patience, and can handle multiple priorities
