Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Alabaster, AL. The CMA will provide compassionate patient care under physician supervision, mentor junior staff, and support exams, procedures, and referrals in a team‑driven clinic.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, patient education, and collaboration to maintain a smooth, high‑quality practice in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program or 1 year MA experience (in addition to CMA experience).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Active certification/registration from CMA agencies (AAMA, NHA, AMCA, NCCT, NAHP, AMT, ARMA, AAH, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care under physician supervision.
  • Lead by example and mentor Medical Assistants.
  • Gather and document patient data, assist with exams and procedures, administer medications.
  • Support education, office operations, and clinic workflow.
  • Collaborate with leadership on training and competency assessments.

Location: 1010 1st St. North, Suite 250, Alabaster, Alabama 35007

Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:45 AM – 4:00 PM; Friday, 6:45 AM - 12:00 PM

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as a Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do

As a Senior CMA, you will:

  • Provide high-quality patient care under the direction of physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Lead by example, supporting quality initiatives and mentoring Medical Assistants.
  • Gather and document patient data, assist with exams/procedures, administer approved medications, and coordinate specialty referrals.
  • Use your clinical expertise to support patient education, office operations, and smooth clinic workflow.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support training, competency assessments, and annual clinical reviews for MAs.
  • Contribute to special projects, committees, and process‑improvement efforts.
