Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) at MultiCare Allenmore Hospital is an integral part of the physician/APP office team, under supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. The MA-C performs safe clinical skills within the scope of practice and maintains continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and families.

This full-time day-shift role includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus with a 24-month commitment and is supported by a comprehensive benefits package,

Qualifications

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) required.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Organizing patient flow with front office staff
• Interviewing patients and obtaining vital signs
• Assisting patients in exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administering medications in accordance with Washington State DOH regulations
• Relaying instructions to patients and families/caregivers
• Sending/receiving patient records and facilitating referrals

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
  • Interviewing patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
  • Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
  • Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
  • Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
  • Sending and receiving of patient medical records
  • Facilitating patient referrals
  • Preparing forms for patients

Requirements

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Current BLS certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.83 - $35.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
