Job summary

USA Clinics Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and maintain smooth workflow across our outpatient clinics.

The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection, with documentation in EMR/EHR systems. The position requires a High School Diploma and 1–2 years of hands-on clinical experience, with CMA/RMA/CCMA preferred. English & Spanish bilingual abilities are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years clinical experience as Medical Assistant or similar role required.
  • Experience with vital signs, rooming, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection required.
  • Completion of CMA/RMA/CCMA or Medical Assistant training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming experience.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information in the EMR/EHR.
  • Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, vaccination administration, and specimen collection as trained.
  • Accurately document patient interactions in EMR/EHR systems.
  • Deliver high-quality patient service in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Utilize EMR platforms (Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks) for documentation.
  • Support patient care across physician offices, clinics, urgent care, hospitals, or home health environments.
  • Leverage bilingual skills to enhance patient communication where applicable.

Position Summary

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team and ensuring a smooth workflow in our clinics. Your responsibilities will include assisting physicians during medical procedures, managing patient interactions, and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patients.

Position Details
  • Location: This position floats between our Skokie, Northbrook, Gurnee and Barrington clinic locations.
  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
  • Compensation: $20-$24hr based on experience and qualifications
  • Bilingual Requirement: English & Spanish
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet, room, and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and positive patient experience.
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR).
  • Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, injections/vaccinations, specimen collection, and other duties within scope of training and certification.
  • Accurately document patient interactions and clinical information using EMR/EHR systems.
  • Deliver exceptional patient service while managing a high volume of patient interactions in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar systems.
  • Support patient care within a healthcare setting, including physician offices, clinics, urgent care centers, pharmacies, hospitals, or home health environments.
  • Leverage bilingual communication skills to support patient interactions when applicable.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on clinical experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar direct patient care role (e.g., Medical Assistant externship, CNA, HHA, Nursing Assistant, or Patient Care Technician), required.
  • Experience performing clinical duties such as vital signs, patient rooming, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection, required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program and/or current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification preferred.
  • Proven patient-facing or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment, required.
