Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Winfield, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses and staff by improving patient flow and providing clinical and administrative assistance in a busy clinic.

You will be responsible for preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, and helping with procedures while upholding confidentiality and delivering professional patient interactions. The role requires certified MA credentials within six months and BLS; a sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certifications: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA or eligible; must attain within six months.
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assure efficient patient flow: escort to exam room, identify patient, obtain vital signs, document visit reason, update allergies and pharmacy info.
• Assist practitioner with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection per protocol.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms, disinfect and maintain equipment, manage inventory.
• Support staff and patients; communicate with care team to expedite visits.
• Perform delegated procedures safely as assigned by supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and adhere to policies and procedures.
