WellMed, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in Texas. The MA will assist physicians and nursing staff, prepare exam rooms, collect specimens, perform basic clinical procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, national MA certification or the ability to obtain within 180 days, current BLS, and basic computer literacy including Excel. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy including Excel.
• Ability to react calmly in emergencies.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform duties within Medical Assistant scope of practice under supervision of a provider.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff; prepare exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Record patient care data accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Coordinate patient care as directed and ensure confidentiality and privacy.
• Provide standard infection control and safety procedures.
