Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the clinical team. Under supervision, you will assist with patient examinations, coordinate care, and support office operations.

You will prepare exam rooms, record vital signs, intake medical history, screen tobacco use and medications, assist with screenings and wellness visits, and document in the EHR. Some roles may float between locations.

Qualifications

• High School or GED, or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification must be completed within specified timelines after hire.
• Certification must cover NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or AMCA.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• CPR certification required by the time of hire.
• Background and credential clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals and history; screen tobacco/medication use.
• Assist with exams, procedures, and lab testing per AHN protocols.
• May serve as a scribe after training.
• Document in the EHR and support clerical tasks as needed.
• Occasional float between locations.
