Job summary

Summit Health Management in Bend, OR is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, or NPs with clinical and clerical duties, patient flow and procedures.

The role requires completing an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, a high school diploma, and BLS. You will document in the EHR, take vitals, schedule, and coordinate referrals while delivering caring, culturally competent care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required.
• 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.
• Travel: Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room.
• Escorts patient into the room.
• Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Ensures proper preparation for patient visit.
• Prepares pertinent information for patient visit.
• Documents in EHR.
• Reviews and updates medication list in EHR.
• Provides referrals and/or consult orders in PMS and EHR.
• Assists in ordering and maintaining supplies.
