Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with patient flow, exam prep, clerical duties and basic procedures in our Bend, Oregon clinics. You will prepare rooms, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the EHR, and help ensure efficient patient visits with clear communication and compassionate care.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited MA or phlebotomy program, 0–1 year of related experience (2–4

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and escorts patient to examination room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visits.
• Documents vitals and allergies in the EHR.
• Schedules appointments according to guidelines.
• Stocks examination rooms with supplies.
• Assists in ordering and maintaining supplies.
• Document encounters per policy and transfer information as needed.
• Communicates issues to Supervisor promptly.
• Adheres to safety precautions when administering medications.
• Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules.
• Provide scribing services.
