Description

We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant for our Rheumatology clinic located in the Huntsville area. The Medical Assistant will support comprehensive patient care that is safe, effective, and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and updating medical history, chief complaints, medication list, and vitals.
• Preparing patient charts in advance and verifying benefits reports.
• Scanning documents into patient charts.
• Ensuring all rooms are stocked and clean before and after each patient.
• Refilling medications as directed and obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Assisting physicians with procedures and wound care.
• Following up on calls and documenting communications.
• Educating patients about labs, referrals, and procedures.
• Scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Distributing faxes and traveling to other CLS Health locations as needed.

Requirements

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a recognized accreditation or graduate of an approved program.
• At least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Willingness to travel to other CLS Health locations.
• Experience in medical office or customer service preferred.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and attention to detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical terminology; insurance billing knowledge is a plus.
