We are seeking a Clinical Intake/Triage Nurse to join our rapidly growing team.

Work at Ria Health as a Medical Assistant

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant will be an integral part of the care team, working together to provide superior care and service to primary care patients. The Medical Assistant will support patients, providers, and the care team to ensure effective virtual visits and efficient daily operations. Continuous critique and process improvement are encouraged, and team members may support multiple teams as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, compassionate, and safe virtual waiting room for patients
• Manage patient flow within the virtual waiting room
• Engage patients virtually, document their medical history, and prepare them for their next visit using Ria Health’s EMR and Zoom
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
• Communicate patient information and waiting room status to clinicians or coaches
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Handle emails and end-of-day procedures, including escalation when necessary
• Resolve patient complaints and support complex cases, knowing when to escalate or de-escalate
• Protect sensitive healthcare information and follow all security policies
• Perform daily administrative tasks efficiently and support teammates as needed
• Follow all company policies, including security, acceptable use, remote work, and monitoring policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

• Ability to quickly build rapport with patients and team members
• 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in traditional or virtual settings
• Experience with Athena EMR preferred
• Familiarity with addiction treatment programs is a plus
• Professional presentation and communication skills
• Excellent active listening and verbal/written communication skills
• Tech-savvy with experience in various applications
• Flexible, curious, and interested in healthcare and technology
