Henry Ford Health's Internal Medicine Resident Clinic - Macomb in Sterling Heights seeks a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, take histories, record vitals, and prepare patients for exams.

Under direct supervision, the MA will assist providers during examinations, maintain EPIC EMR documentation, and ensure timely care. Must have recent phlebotomy experience and strong communication with patients.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of Medical Assistant program with formal externship (min 160 hours).
• Active MA certification or eligible, with recent clinical MA experience in past five years.
• Recent phlebotomy experience required.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties may include but are not limited to:

• Greeting and escorting patients to the exam room.
• Obtaining medical histories.
• The measurement and recording of vital signs.
• Preparing patients for an examination/procedure.
• Assisting the provider during the examination/procedure.
• Must have recent practical phlebotomy experience.

STATUS: Full Time, 40 hours per week

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
• Ability to problem-solve preferred. Posses effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
• Must have recent practical phlebotomy experience.
• From the Hiring Manager: “Recent primary care experience, active/current phlebotomy experience, adult vaccine knowledge a plus. Must be able to work rotating shifts- 715a-345p, 930a-6p.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred. Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred. Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred. EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred. Additional Requirements: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
