Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Regional Medical Assistant to support multiple outpatient offices across Worcester County. The role requires travel between Worcester, Shrewsbury, Westborough, Northborough, Marlborough and Milford locations, with a 40-hour schedule and a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities include escorting patients, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, POC tests, injections, and routine clinical procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS or Heart Saver certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health must be obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer.
• Must have valid MA driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests.
• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and promptly bring abnormal results to the physicians’ attention.

Assists in performing routine physical examination or clinical procedures.5. Reviews laboratory results and ensures abnormal results are immediately brought to the attention of the physicians and others, as appropriate.II. Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Required:1. High School Diploma or equivalent.2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification from the American Heart Association. If not available upon hire, a BLS/HS must be obtained within 3 months from date of hire. If certification is not obtained within 3 months of hire, the employee may be terminated or employee may apply for another position for which they meet the minimum qualifications.3. Medical Assistant credential, approved by the Massachusetts Department of Health (ARMA, NHA, etc.), must be obtained within 1 year from date of hire/transfer.
