Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Regional Medical Assistant to support multiple community practices on a full-time, on-site basis. The MA II will provide clinical care and clerical support under licensed supervision.

Responsibilities include vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, POC testing, and injections. Travel to several sites is required; a valid MA license and BLS certification are mandatory. A $3/hour shift differential and a $3,000 sign-on bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS/HS certification required.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health must be obtained within 1 year of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms and record vital signs.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests according to standards.
• Prepare and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review laboratory results and flag abnormal findings to physicians.
