Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Southbridge, MA is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support clinic operations under licensed clinicians. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing EKGs and phlebotomy, and assisting with injections and patient care in a clinical setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a MA-credential. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for new hires and BLS/HS certification must be maintained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heart Saver (HS) certification required; obtain within 3 months if not yet available.
• Medical Assistant credential approved by MA Department of Health required; may substitute education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight).
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and Point of Care tests per clinic standards.
• Prepare, document, and administer non-intravenous injections as directed.
• Assist in routine physical examinations or clinical procedures.
• Review lab results and flag abnormal findings to physicians.
