Job summary

Advanced Pain and Anesthesia Consultants (APAC) in Crown Point, IN is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist. The role combines front office duties with hands-on patient care in a collaborative outpatient setting.

This position offers opportunities to develop clinical and administrative skills while supporting a Joint Commission-accredited practice. Responsibilities include patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, EMR management, vitals collection, and assisting

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of administrative experience.
  • At least one year of healthcare setting experience.
  • Minimum one year of hands-on EMR experience.
  • Preferred Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients by checking them in/out, registering new patients, and collecting co-pays and deposits.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and gather required patient information.
  • Prepare patient paperwork, insurance documentation, and required consent forms.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using EMR systems while protecting patient confidentiality.
  • Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and clinical information.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms, clean instruments, stock supplies, and monitor inventory.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, patient care, medication administration (under physician supervision), and patient transfers.
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and their families throughout their visit.
  • Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and facility policies while completing required compliance training.

Schedule: Every Monday and Every Other Friday (subject to change)

Location: Crown Point, IN 46307 (Travel toValparaiso office every Monday & every other Friday)

What You'll Do

As a Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist, you'll play an important role in delivering an exceptional patient experience by supporting both front office operations and clinical care.
