Norton Healthcare, Inc. is hiring for a Medical Assistant/X-Ray role in a physician office setting.

The position involves administrative and clinical duties under direct supervision, assisting with patient care and serving as the clinical liaison between physician, patient, and staff, with added radiology responsibilities. Education options include a Medical Assistant program or one year of MA experience; radiology license and LXMO/RAD certifications may be required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program or one year as a Medical Assistant.
• Must complete Norton Healthcare Medical Assistant Trainee program within 90 days if needed.
• Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology and/or Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Performs x-rays and documents according to department protocol; forwards for over-reads when appropriate; maintains a current radiology license.
• Verifies lab results and reports are received and available in the EMR for physician review.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care, communication, safety, patient teaching, and medication administration.
• Administers and documents medications and collects lab samples; prepares patient for exams and assists provider.
• Obtains patient history, reason for visit, and records vital signs in the EMR.
