Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT seeks a Radiology Medical Assistant for a 10-week contract starting 10/12/2026. Shift is 12 hours/day, 3 days/week onsite; weekends are required (Fri–Sun 7a–7:30p).

Responsibilities include assisting the radiology team in CT exams, scheduling and processing exams, stocking rooms, answering phones, aiding patients, and starting IVs. EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required, and reliable transportation is necessary.

Qualifications

• EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required.
• Experience in a teaching-sized facility is preferred.
• Must be available to start in the next week.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiology team with CT exams and workflow.
• Schedule and process radiology exams; coordinate with nurses and radiologists.
• Assist patients and transport within the department; stock rooms and answer phones.

Experience in similar sized teaching facility

• Radiology Medical Assistant for CT unit, will be required to work EVERY weekend. Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7a-7:30p. the candidate will work closely with the Radiology Tech in conducting patient exams by assisting in the clerical non technical and non exposure aspects of the exam. the candidate is responsible for assisting the tech, radiology nurse and radiologist by managing workflow , answering phones, stocking rooms, aiding patients to and from exam rooms and department. will perform various tasks such as scheduling and processing exams, preparing for regulatory and hospital audits, and utilizing the department computer systems. Will need to be very proficient in starting IVs in some modalities.

EPIC experience from within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable

• IVS to OFFER
• Monday to Sunday
• No block schedules for any reason
• Bi-weekly orientations on Monday
• Please ensure all employment gaps over 90 days are explained
• This facility requires ALL work history information (bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.) to be complete in order to submit

• Public Transportation is NOT accessible in this area, please ensure you have reliable transportation, personal vehicle or rental vehicle are strongly recommended
• Vehicles should be equipped with all season or snow tires during the months of November - April.
