Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow, prepare charts, and assist clinical staff in a busy facility.

You will help with patient check-in, chart accuracy, and on-site coordination. The role requires a Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent, High School diploma, and BLS certification. EMR experience is preferred, with strong teamwork and compassion a must.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus MA program or U.S. Armed Forces medical services training.
• Experience with computer programs used for checking-in and scheduling patients.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Maintains hospital standards and collects laboratory specimens according to protocol.
• Assists nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures.
• Retrieves equipment and supplies as needed.
• Assists in patient and equipment preparation.
• Performs follow-up actions as directed.
• Completes hospital forms per protocol.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients.

• Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol
• Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Performs follow-up actions as directed
• Completes hospital forms per protocol

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program
• Demonstrated experience with computer programs utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

• Previous MA experience
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
• Previous experience in designated specialty
• Bilingual skills
