Job summary

Reliant Medical Group, part of the Optum family, seeks a Medical Assistant for Pulmonary at our Worcester, MA location. This full-time position (38.75 hours/week) runs 8:30am–5pm, with no evenings or weekends and occasional travel to other sites up to three times monthly.

You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, take vital signs, assist with procedures, prepare rooms, and support office operations while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant diploma or certification, or enrollment in an accredited MA program.
  • CPR certification.
  • 1+ year experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant or EMT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Take and record vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight) for patients.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and simple diagnostics.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and support clerical/office functions.

Positions in this function performs a variety of duties involving clinical and administrative patient care while adhering to the standards of the practice. Provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Assist in the examination and treatment of patients by taking and recording vital signs such as blood pressures, temperatures, height, weight, etc. Assist physician and others with simple to moderate clinical/diagnostic procedures such as urine cultures, pregnancy tests, throat cultures, etc. Prepare treatment rooms. Perform a variety of clerical functions to support office functions. Perform related duties to facilitate the efficient utilization of computer-based information.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Medical Assistants performs a variety of duties involving clinical and administrative patient care while adhering to the standards of the practice

Assists in the examination and treatment of geriatric patients by taking and recording vital signs such as blood pressures, temperatures, height, weight, etc.

  • Performs a variety of clerical functions to support office functions
  • Performs related duties to facilitate the efficient utilization of computer-based information

Required Qualifications:
  • Medical Assistant diploma, technical certification or 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training or current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active medical assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA and CMAC)
  • CPR certification
  • Experience with electronic medical record software (EPIC)
  • Experience performing medical back-office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
