Reliant Medical Group in Worcester, MA is hiring a Medical Assistant for the OB/GYN team. You will support clinical and administrative patient care, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist physicians with procedures.

The role requires Medical Assistant certification or current enrollment in a MA program, EMT or on-the-job experience, and EPIC EMR familiarity. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates, with full-time hours Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

  • Technical certification or 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Experience as Medical Assistant or EMT.
  • Enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • EMT certification is acceptable.

Location: Worcester, MA- Travel as needed to various sites in region for coverage.

Hours: Full Time. Monday - Friday. 8 hour shifts vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Positions in this function performs a variety of duties involving clinical and administrative patient care while adhering to the standards of the practice. Assist in the examination and treatment of patients by taking and recording vital signs such as blood pressures, temperatures, height, weight, etc. Assist physician and others with simple to moderate clinical/diagnostic procedures such as urine cultures, pregnancy tests, throat cultures, etc. Prepare treatment rooms. Perform a variety of clerical functions to support office functions. Perform related duties to facilitate the efficient utilization of computer-based information.

This position performs a full range of medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment & instruments
  • Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
  • Document patient care using electronic medical record software
  • Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis and handle patient specimen samples
  • Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations
  • Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing

Required Qualifications:

  • Tech nical certification or 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a Medical Assistant after on-the-job training OR current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program OR EMT certification
  • Experience working as a Medical Assistant or EMT

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMA and CMAC)
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) Certification or completed within 90 days of date of hire
  • Experience with electronic medical records software (EPIC)

Experience performing medical back-office tasks including obtaining vital signs, injections/immunizations, phlebotomy, urinalysis and administering medications

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
