Job summary

vTech Solution seeks a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) for our pulmonary outpatient clinic in Washington. You will obtain vital signs, prep patients, assist with nebulizer treatments and immunizations, and support specimen collection and basic lab testing.

Proficiency with EPIC is required. The role is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, temp-to-hire with preference for local candidates. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential required.
• Minimum 6 months experience in outpatient or pulmonary clinic setting preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system.
• Ability to obtain vital signs and perform specimen collection.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) provides essential clinical and administrative support in a pulmonary outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures such as nebulizer treatments and immunizations, specimen collection, and performing laboratory tests. The role requires strong knowledge of clinical tasks and proficiency with EPIC charting, supporting efficient patient care and clinic operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs including height, weight, pulse oximetry
• Prepare patients for exams by recording history, medications, and allergies
• Set up and assist with procedures such as nebulizer treatments
• Administer injections including immunizations and intramuscular shots
• Collect, label, and process specimens including sputum samples
• Perform laboratory tests such as strep tests
• Complete office duties including authorization forms, chart preparation, pharmacy calls, and stocking supplies
• Administer medications and TB tests as required
• Conduct follow-up phone calls and assist with rooming patients
• Perform special procedures including 6 minute walk testing, spirometry, and FeNO testing

Required Skills & Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) credential (MA-R not accepted)
• Minimum 6 months experience, preferably 1 year in adult outpatient or pulmonary clinic setting
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Knowledge and skill in obtaining vital signs and specimen collection
• Ability to administer injections and medications safely
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Experience with pulmonary clinic procedures and testing
• Previous exposure to spirometry, FeNO testing, and 6 minute walk testing
• Experience in authorization form processing and pharmacy refill coordination

Special Considerations

• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Position is temp-to-hire with preference for local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Consistent work location with no floating between units
• Strict requirement for MA-C certification only

Scheduling

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 5 days a week
• No weekend shifts or call duties
