Hourly Adult Education Instructor of Medical Assistant Program
Location: Burlington County Institute of Technology Adult Education
Position Summary
The Burlington County Institute of Technology Adult Education Division is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Assistant Instructor to join our team on an hourly, part-time basis. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction to adult learners enrolled in the Medical Assistant Program (MED600 F26). The instructor will prepare students for entry-level positions and national certification examinations through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), covering cognitive, psychomotor, and affective competencies in both administrative and clinical domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver curriculum aligned with national core standards across administrative duties (scheduling, medical records, transcription, office administration) and clinical skills (asepsis, vital signs, ECG, phlebotomy, specimen collection, medication administration).
- Facilitate hands‑on lab practice and evaluate student skill competencies to prepare them for clinical practicums and NHA certifications (CAMA, ECG Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and CMA).
- Utilize course software and textbooks, including Kinn's The Medical Assistant and Elsevier SimChart for the Medical Office.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) or current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License (required)
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of four (4) years of combined clinical and administrative healthcare experience
- Demonstrated mastery in phlebotomy, electrocardiography (ECG), infection control, and medical office workflows
- Excellent clinical, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience teaching adult learners or healthcare professionals (preferred)
Salary & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $40.30/hour
- Schedule: Monday Thursday, 8:30 am 3:30 pm (Classroom, lab, and clinical hours as scheduled)
