This is a part-time hourly position. Work hours are based on program needs, course scheduling, and enrollment. Classes are offered throughout most of the year but may not run continuously year-round. This position reports to the Director of Non-Credit Healthcare Programs. Work hours and instructional assignments, including program location, will be determined by the Director in collaboration with the employee prior to the start of employment.
The Medical Assistant Skills Instructor provides classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical instruction within the Medical Assistant program. Responsibilities include teaching clinical medical assisting skills, supervising hands‑on laboratory and skills‑based instruction, evaluating student competencies, supporting certification preparation, maintaining laboratory operations, and assisting students in developing the clinical skills, professionalism, and entry‑level competencies required for professional practice in ambulatory healthcare settings.
Position requires limited local travel; employee must have access to transportation.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to use Internet software, spreadsheet software, Microsoft Office applications word processing software. The individual must be willing and able to learn other software programs required to perform the essential duties, including LMS instructor training.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
