Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Canton, NC, invites applications for a Medical Assistant in the Haywood Family practice. This PRN, as-needed position supports a two-provider primary care team delivering routine checkups, illness management, and minor procedures for patients aged 4 and up.

Under supervision of a provider, you will perform patient assessments, document care, assist with testing, maintain rooms and supplies, and handle scheduling and registration.

Qualifications

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Previous medical office experience, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assists with patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitors patient changes.
• Documents patient care and maintains examination areas.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, stocks, cleans, troubleshoots.
• Performs administrative duties: filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, registration.
• Completes other tasks delegated by practice leads, supervisors or Market Director.
