Job summary

Kansas Spine & Specialty Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant PRN to support clinical operations. You will room patients, collect information, educate patients on medications, input orders, and coordinate with providers to keep care on schedule.

As a CMA, you will use EHR systems, follow clinic protocols, and maintain high standards of patient confidentiality while delivering compassionate, efficient assistance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Experience with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and accurately, ensuring information is collected prior to evaluation.
• Collect urine drug screens following clinic protocols to ensure proper chain of custody and documentation.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and physician orders, ensuring understanding and adherence.
• Input orders for the clinic and track progress for timely submission.
• Follow up on authorizations with payors or external entities to secure approvals.
• Process outgoing referrals, coordinating with specialty offices and ensuring proper documentation and communication with patients.
• Reschedule patient appointments for follow-ups with NPs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
