Job summary

CareNow - Rivers Ave (an affiliate of HCA Healthcare) is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will prepare patients, assist with exams, injections, labs, and phlebotomy, and help with follow-up scheduling. Strong clinical experience and EHR familiarity are beneficial.

The role offers PRN flexibility within a nationwide urgent care network, with opportunities for certification progress and professional development in a fast-paced care environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or completion of an approved Back Office Training Program (BOTP) is required.
• Certification from the AAMA is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening certification within 30 days preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
• Assist with injections, lab testing, and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Coordinate follow-up care scheduling and patient transfers.
