JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Assist the physician in coordinating care appropriate for the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service, under the supervision of the physician, clinic RN, and/or clinic manager.

JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Performs basic physical assessments: Collects data for treatment, reports emergent problems immediately, and ensures data accuracy.
  2. Provides patient care: Administers medications, performs treatments, and conducts phlebotomy per physician orders and policies.
  3. Handles patient care calls: Assesses purpose, discusses with physician, and documents accurately.
  4. Manages data processes: Assists with clinic charges and updates patient records accurately.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1-2 years in a clinical setting.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED preferred; Medical Assistant program completion and certification required.

HIPAA REQUIREMENTS

Adheres to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient information in all formats.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Follows safety practices, including incident reporting, waste handling, PPE use, and administering medications and blood products.
