Description:

JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Assist the physician in coordinating care appropriate for the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service and under the direction/supervision of the physician, clinic RN and/or clinic manager.

JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Performs basic physical assessments, collecting data for treatment, and communicates emergent problems.
2. Provides patient care per standards, including medication administration, treatments, and phlebotomy, with 100% accuracy.
3. Handles incoming patient care calls, assessing, documenting, and following physician instructions.
4. Assists with clinic data management, including charges and record updates.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• 1-2 years in a clinic setting preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant certification required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Maintains knowledge and adherence to HIPAA and safety regulations, including handling of medical records, patient information, and safety protocols.
