Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to join Plainfield Correctional Facility located in Plainfield, Indiana. The Medical Assistant works under the direction of the RN or LPN and is responsible for monitoring patient vital signs, implementing orders for diagnostic lab tests, and assisting the Physician with minor procedures.

Additionally, responsibilities include recording EKGs, maintaining and cleaning medical equipment, and collecting data for Quality Improvement programs.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana Medical Assistant license/certification required.
• Minimum of 6 months Lab Experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Corrections experience preferred, not required.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient vital signs.
• Implement orders for diagnostic lab tests.
• Assist physician with minor procedures.
• Record EKGs and maintain/clean medical equipment.
