Job summary

Physicians Care in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our urgent care team. The Medical Assistant provides clinical care across urgent care and occupational health settings, performing initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories and vital signs.

The role includes phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures under provider supervision, with Full-time and PRN schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times.
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations.
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency.
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed.
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details.
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision.
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding.
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed.

JOB SUMMARY:

WHAT'S THE SCHEDULE?

Full-time team memberswork a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable
