Job summary

Urgent Team is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in Knoxville, TN. The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings, including initial evaluations, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for intervention.

Full-time schedule includes rotating 36-40 hour weeks; BLS certification is required and CMA is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Experience performing X-Rays desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients promptly and communicate next steps and wait times clearly.
  • Provide solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergencies.
  • Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; make urgent follow-up calls.
  • Assist front desk with check-in/check-out when needed.
  • Document vital signs, histories, meds, allergies and pertinent details accurately.
  • Assist with patient transfers, procedures and lab work under supervision.
  • Prepare and shoot X-Rays with proper positioning and shielding.
  • Maintain stocked, clean exam rooms and complete visit documentation.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections and other procedures as trained.

Urgent Team is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in Knoxville, TN.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
  • Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
  • Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency
  • Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
  • Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
  • Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision
  • Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding
  • Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards
  • Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed
What’s the Schedule?

Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

What’s Required?
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS Certification
  • Certified Medical Assistant is preferred
  • Experience performing X-Rays is desirable
