Job summary

WeCare tlc in Quincy, IL is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant for an as-needed PRN position. Under the supervision of the Health Center Nurse Manager, you will support ambulatory care across occupational, primary, urgent, and emergent services.

You will use medical terminology knowledge, communicate effectively with patients, and participate in prevention and health maintenance activities. Prior MA, EMT, PCT, or CNA experience and CPR/BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as Medical Assistant, EMT, PCT or CNA
• Current CPR/BLS

WeCare tlc operates a health center for the employees and dependents of our client.

The Medical Assistant under the supervision of the Health Center Nurse Manager is responsible for assisting in the delivery of occupational, primary, urgent, and emergent care in an ambulatory setting with emphasis on prevention, treatment, and health maintenance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective communication skills, high level of customer service and ability to work as a member of a team. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy.

Requirements

Prior Experience and Education

Required

• Must have through education or training in the basics of medical terminology.
• Must have a Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, PCT or CNA
• Current CPR/BLS

Preferred

• Successful completion and graduation from a medical assistant program
• Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• Phlebotomy experience
