Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will prepare patients, assist with room setup, and help with exams and lab work, including injections and phlebotomy.

You will coordinate referrals and follow-up care, while maintaining sterile environments and equipment readiness. The role emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and accurate documentation using an EHR system.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program Back Office Training Program (BOTP) is required.
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful.
• Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms and maintain supplies/equipment including sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injury for partner accounts.
• Screen referrals by incoming calls for physicians and practitioners.

Hourly Wage Estimate: $20.05 - $29.09 / hour
