Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant PRN to join our patient‑focused team. You will prepare patients for examinations, take histories and vital signs, and assist with rooms, supplies and basic procedures.

You should have 1+ year clinical experience, familiarity with EHR systems, and graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting program; AAMA certification is a plus, with credentials expected within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical patient setting experience required or preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or completion of approved BOTP program required.
• Certification from the AAMA is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam/treatment rooms with instruments and supplies; sterilization where needed.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with patient transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners

You Should Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
• The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
