Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is growing its medical team in Grapevine, Texas. You will prepare patients for examinations, document histories and vitals, and ready exam rooms with instruments and supplies.

You will assist with injections, lab tests, splints, and follow-up scheduling, while coordinating workplace physicals for partner accounts. A year of clinical experience and EHR familiarity are preferred; graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical patient setting experience preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or Back Office Training Program (BOTP) required.
• AAMA certification is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Breath Alcohol and Federal Drug Screening certifications within 30 days of start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms with instruments and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or Back Office Training Program (BOTP)

AAMA certification helpful

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Assistant, you will:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization

• Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs

• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages

• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care

• Coordinate patient physicals and work place injuries for partner accounts

• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners

You Should Have:

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred

• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful

• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program Back Office Training Program (BOTP) is required

• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful

• The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
