Job summary

Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in delivering primary care and to ensure meticulous charting in the EHR. The role includes patient rooming, vital signs, specimen handling, and assisting with procedures under supervision.

Qualified candidates have an accredited Medical Assisting program and CMA/RMA/CCMA or equivalent certification, with 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program and CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/ARMA/NRCMA certifications.
• Proven ability to prepare charts, collect vitals, manage referrals, and document in EHR.
• Experience supporting providers during examinations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare charts and gather information for patient visits and record in the EHR.
• Greet patients, manage clinic flow, and direct to examining rooms.
• Assist with examinations and procedures, and document results in the EHR.
• Administer medications/injections per guidelines and manage vaccine program.
• Handle specimen transport, lab orders, and patient communications as assigned.
• Maintain patient records and support nursing staff as needed.
