Job summary

Entertimeonline in Cookeville, TN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Providers in delivering patient care. You’ll perform vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, prepare patient charts, and assist with minor procedures.

Two years of urgent or primary care experience and a High School Diploma are required; Medical Assistant certification is preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a must.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of urgent or primary care experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Ability to communicate effectively with providers.
• Reliable and responsive to patients, families, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Providers in patient care and maintain EMR updates.
• Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and minor diagnostics.
• Prepare patient charts including referrals, labs, and preventive screenings.
• Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and schedule with specialists.
• Manage incoming/outgoing records and ensure accurate indexing.
• Update patient information in the EMR (demographics, contact preferences, etc.).
• Collaborate with care teams to provide counseling and health education.
• Triages calls and determines whether telephonic or in-person care is needed.
